Social Studies and Science will be integrated often throughout the course of the year.
Projects will be assigned occasionally in both Science and Social Studies, but for the most part these will be addressed in the classroom.
Learning through exploration, investigation, and discovery is absolutely vital!!

In fourth grade, students learn about the history, culture and geography of North Carolina, including but not limited to:
*colonial times
*revolutionary periods
*issues that led to the Civil War
*how people adapt to and modify the environment
**Declaration of Independence
*Pledge of Allegiance
*democratic society
*identify important leaders in the national government
*Bill of Rights
*customs and celebrations of various racial, ethnic, and religious groups
*contributions of famous inventors and scientists
*critical-thinking skills including sequencing, categorizing, and summarizing information and drawing inferences and conclusions
